I have a problem with the functioning of the station or I noticed a defect – what can I do? The technical conditions of the system are monitored regularly. We will be grateful if you point out any mistake. Please send us this information via email message to the address of the Customer Service (info@bikekia.sk), by calling the hotline: +421 905 073 073 or reporting the problem via the app BikeKIA containing the number of problematic station/bike. The service will check out the problem and remove the defect as soon as possible. |
There are no bikes at the station – why? Our team monitors the bikes regularly and ensures the relocation of the bikes by moving them between the stations. If there is no available bike at the station, the information about the closest available bike you can find in the app BikeKIA or online at www.bikekia.sk. |
Can I park the bike outside of a station? Yes, you can! You can park the bike temporarily via app, where you have to select “PARK”, than lock the bike by pressing down the lever at the frame. Until your bike is returned to a BikeKIA official station, your rental time continues to accrue. |
What should I do when a rented bike was stolen? In case of a theft of a bike during rental you should inform the Customer Service about it within the maximum of 12 hours on the phone number +421 905 073 073. |
If I am registered in BikeKIA, can I use the bikesharing systems in other cities or countries too? System BikeKIA is compatible with nextbike systems. This means that registration in one of them gives access to the other bike systems of which nextbike is the operator in Nitra and also abroad without any additional formalities-in accordance with the local price list (except for systems in Budapest, Belfast and Munich). |
How do I turn on the lamp of the BikeKIA? The lamp in bicycles is switched on automatically once the bike is put in motion. |
Can I attach a child seat to the city bike? Bikes are not adjusted to mounting child seats or carrying more than one passengers. |
How to rent a bike?

How many bikes can I rent at the same time? You may rent maximum 4 bikes at once per one account. For each bike the system calculates the rental time separately, therefore, you do not have to return all the bikes at the same time. |
What if the bike is not released from the dock? If you have rented a bike in the app but the lock has not yet been opened, we recommend to open the rental in the app where “the lock did not open” item is displayed. Click on this item and the app will resend the signal for opening the lock. If the lock does not open even after repeated attempts, gently rotate the wheel and repeat the “the lock did not open” option in the app. If the bike does not unlock, please call the Customer Service +421 905 073 073 and they help you realize, where the problem is. |
I have a problem with bike rental. Once I have entered the telephone number and PIN I am asked to provide credit card number as if I had to start registering from the beginning. What should I do? Normally, during identification you should not be asked about credit card number. Such a situation may occur when for example the user gives a wrong telephone number. You should straight away call the Customer Service where our consultant will try to identify and solve the problem. |
Can I take a break during my ride and leave the bike for a few minutes? Of course, however, common sense remains key in this case. Do not leave the bike in isolated or “risky” spots and always remember to park it correctly as described in the section “how to park the bike”. We also want to assure you that no one else will be able to rent such a bike via mobile application for a moment during a ride, since the bike will be visible as occupied within the system. |

What should I do when I have an accident during the rental? Please call the Customer Service as soon as possible. If you are in an accident and someone is injured or there is any type of property damage to the bicycle or other vehicles, call the police. Once you have a police report, you will need the police officer’s name who got the case, the names of all persons involved and a copy of the report. Then go on according to the instructions of the Customer Service. |

Where do I lock the bike when all racks of a station are occupied? If there are no docks vacant, return the bike right next to the dock and lock it by pressing down the lever at the frame. |
What should I do if I cannot press the lock at the frame when locking the bike? If you cannot press the lock, you need to move the rear wheel. Then the lock is released and you can lock the bike. |
How will I know that the return has been done correctly? In order to check whether the bike was correctly returned log into your BikeKIA account through the website or mobile app. The correctness of return may be verified by calling the Customer Service +421 905 073 073. |
How long after the end of a ride and return of the bike may I rent another bike at the same station? You may rent a bike straight away. If you wish to rent the same bike you should wait for 3 minutes. |
How can I register in the system? To use the bikes, you should fill in the registration form which is available on the website www.bikekia.sk or register via the BikeKIA app and read through and accept General Terms and Conditions. Registration is free of charge for applicants via app and on website too. For the activation of the BikeKIA customer account it is needed to enter the details of the payment card. Dependently upon the use of the service, the provider is authorized to charge rental or service fee in according to the actual tariff which you can find on the www.bikekia.sk website. |
How can I cancel my subscription or my customer account? You can either cancel your account online by clicking “CLOSE ACCOUNT” when you are logged into your customer account or send an application to the email address info@bikekia.sk. We don’t accept cancellations over the phone as we need to have written prove of the cancellation request. |
How much does the bike rental cost? The service is free of charge for unlimited amount of 15 min. rides for every user. The actual tariff of BikeKIA system is available at www.bikekia.sk website. |
Can I Purchase a Yearly Membership? Yes! The annual subscription allows you to make an unlimited number of 30-minute rides within the subscription for free. Annual subscription is valid for one (any) bike only. You will be charged a pay as you go fee for each additional rented bicycle. |
Do I need to have Credit or Debit Card to use the system? Yes, you must have a credit or debit card to use the system. |
Which payment cards are accepted? We accept VISA, MasterCard credit/debit cards issued by any financial institution. |
Can I change the method of payments selected at the registration? How can I change it? You can change the selected payment method at any time in your BikeKIA customer account, on the website or in the app. |
What should I do if an incorrect payment was charged to my account? If the service fee charged is not adequate and in line with the factual state you need to fill in the complaint, that you can find on www.bikekia.sk. We will examine the application and answer in 30 days. |
Am I allowed to ride on the sidewalk? No, you are not. We strongly discourage riders from riding on the sidewalk, and in many cases it is illegal to ride on the sidewalk. If you need to use the sidewalk, please dismount and walk your bicycle. Please ride on the street, obey all traffic signs and always look out to pedestrians. |
How old do I have to be to ride? The BikeKIA bike sharing system is intended for users who are at least 16 years old. |
Do I have to wear a helmet or safety vest? A cyclist is obliged under Act no. 8/2009 Z.z. when driving on a bicycle outside the village, protect the head with helmet and in case of reduced visibility visually positioned reflective elements or reflective safety clothing. |
When are service fees charged? Service fees are charged in case of use of BikeKIA which is not complying with the General Terms and Conditions, if the bike is not returned to one of the official stations listed on the web page www.bikekia.sk, when the bike is returned or locked incorrectly, if the bike was stolen as a result of negligence of the customer or the customer caused damage on the bike / station / bike stand. |
Has financial consequences the use of BikeKIA bicycles, which is not complying with the General Terms and Conditions? In case of use of the bikes which is not responding with the terms of use, a fee of 10,00 € will be charged. |
What happens if I return the bike out of the official station? If the bike is not returned to one of the official stations, a fee of 25,00 € will be charged. The official stations may be found online at www.bikekia.sk or via mobile app BikeKIA. |
What are the consequences of the incorrect return or lock of the bike? If the customer returns or locks the bike incorrectly, a 25,00 € service fee shell be applied. |
Do I have to pay a fee if my bike was stolen? If the bike was stolen as a result of negligence, customer participation shall be charged with an amount of 75,00 €. Right to compensation for ARRIVA Slovakia a.s. remains unaffected. |
What happens if I cause a damage on the bike, station or bike stand? In case of damage done to the bike/rental station/bike stand, a fee of 75,00 € shall be charged for actual expenses incurred. Right to compensation for ARRIVA Slovakia a.s. remains unaffected. |
